2018-2019 National Diabetes Audit: primary care data extraction

Dear Colleague,

2018-2019 National Diabetes Audit: primary care data extraction

We are contacting you with a reminder that the National Diabetes Audit (NDA) is moving to quarterly collections of data from GP practices in England, and to provide an update regarding opting in to the automatic extraction service (GPES) via Calculating Quality Reporting Service (CQRS) for the NDA.

As was the case for the 2017/18 extraction, in order to take part primary care services will need to “opt in” via the Calculating Quality Reporting Service (CQRS).

Please note that services that were signed up via CQRS for the 2017/18 audit will be automatically included in the 2018/19 audit and will not need to sign up again this time. These services will therefore be included in the August, November, February and May extracts.

We have been recently informed, however, that the formal invitation to sign up automatically for the 2018/19 NDA will not be sent out directly from CQRS until 9th August. Those services who are unsure whether they have signed up or not can check within the participation management screen on their own local system. This can be filtered to show a list of which services have been accepted.

If someone has accidently rejected it, they can contact
support@cqrs.co.uk or call 0800 440 2777 and they will re-send the offer. CQRS can also check live/current approvals. Further information re CQRS is available on their website at https://training.cqrs.nhs.uk/web/training/home.

Further information can be found here:

Extraction of General Practice data via GPES will commence on the following dates:

  • 6th Aug 2018 – progress check: Jan-Jun 2018 data.
  • 14th Nov 2018 – progress check: Jan-Sep 2018 data.
  • 8th Feb 2019 – progress check: Jan-Dec 2018 data.
  • May 2019 (date TBC) – full and complete data extraction for final report.
This email was sent to all known contacts on our mailing list. If you would like to be removed from this list, please email diabetes@nhs.net. If you have any questions about the audit, please contact Gary Jevon (Clinical Audit Manager) or Elizabeth Eaves (Audit Coordinator) by emailing diabetes@nhs.net.

Thank you for your continued support of this audit.

Kind Regards

NDA Team
